These records were transcribed from the original baptismal registers, which are still held in the church of San Lucas in Salto. It is the 'English' church, within the Anglican communion, though no-one in the congregation at present speaks any English. The incumbent is Father Gilberto Porcal. The registers cover the years 1868-1897. There is a note in Spanish to the effect that no records were kept between 21 November 1897 and 25 January 1903. The transcript, of which I hold a copy is deposited with the Society of Genealogists, London and was made by Mrs. Janice Tostevin.
